Consider the social issues in the story I Stand Here Ironing and Maggie: A Girl of The Streets. Are these stories talking about the same issues in different ways? If so, how can an understanding of both stories better inform our understanding of the issue in question? To begin, consider how these authors present characters, setting, set tone, ect..
