In-class Journal:

In your journal, I want you to create and compile sections for details that relate to character, setting, plot, tone, and cultural references as they are evident in the first half of Maggie: A Girl of The Streets. ( 15 minutes)

Next, I want you to select from these details some evidence to back up an argument that you could make about the representation of work in this story, as you understand it so far.  Begin this writing with your definition for work. (25 minutes)

Homework

Pre-read writing: (1 page) Solidify and consolidate your in-class writing into a one page document that clearly articulates your position with evidence.

Read the second half of Maggie: A Girl of The Streets.
